At The Discount Furniture Co, we stand behind the quality of the products we supply. This Warranty Policy outlines the warranty coverage for furniture purchased from our stores or online.
Our warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship under normal residential use only.
This policy operates alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Under the ACL, our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. Customers are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund for major failures and compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
1. Warranty Coverage
The Discount Furniture Co provides warranties on all products purchased in-store or online unless otherwise stated.
Warranty coverage applies only to manufacturing defects and does not extend to issues caused by:
-
normal wear and tear
-
misuse or accidental damage
-
improper cleaning or maintenance
-
modifications or repairs not authorised by The Discount Furniture Co
-
damage caused by natural events such as fire, flood or storms
-
commercial use of furniture designed for residential use
2. Warranty Periods
Warranty periods begin from the date of delivery or collection.

The structural frame is covered against manufacturing defects in workmanship or materials.
Seat foam and fillings may soften over time with normal use. Areas that receive more frequent use may soften sooner than unused areas. This natural softening and minor fabric loosening (sometimes called puddling) is considered normal and not a manufacturing defect.
Recliner mechanisms and electrical components such as motors, buttons, transformers and control systems are covered for 1 year against manufacturing faults.
Armrests and backrests are not designed to be used as seating areas. Damage caused by sitting or standing on these parts is considered misuse and will not be covered by warranty.

-
texture differences
These characteristics are normal and not considered defects.
The fabric warranty covers manufacturing defects in the upholstery material, such as:
-
Fabric tearing or splitting due to a manufacturing fault
-
Stitching or seam failures
-
Fabric separating from the backing
-
Dye or colour defects caused by manufacturing
However, like all upholstery manufacturers, the fabric warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or issues caused by external factors, including:
-
Fabric pilling or bobbling caused by friction
-
Improper use or lack of maintenance
-
Damage from blankets, clothing fibres, pets, or sharp objects
-
Stains, spills, or chemical damage

Fading from sunlight or cleaning products

photographs or videos showing the issue
-
a description of the problem
Our customer service team will review the claim and advise the next steps.

replacement of defective parts
-
replacement of the product

refund where required under Australian Consumer Law
The resolution offered will depend on the nature of the issue and product availability.

-
Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims
