At The Discount Furniture Co, we aim to provide quality furniture at competitive prices. To maintain affordable pricing and efficient operations, the following Returns & Warranty Policy applies to all purchases made in-store or online.

This policy operates in conjunction with your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Manufacturing Defects & Warranty Claims

We stand behind the quality of our products. If you believe an item has a manufacturing defect or fault, please contact us and submit a warranty claim.

Once your claim is received, our team will review the issue and determine the appropriate resolution. Depending on the situation, this may include:

  • Repair of the product

  • Replacement of the product or component

  • Refund where applicable under Australian Consumer Law

In some cases, we may require photos, videos, or inspection of the product to assess the claim.

Change of Mind

We do not offer refunds, exchanges, or cancellations for change of mind once an order has been confirmed or processed.

We strongly recommend that customers:

  • Carefully check measurements and product specifications

  • Ensure the furniture will fit through doorways, staircases, lifts and hallways

  • Confirm colours, materials and suitability for their space

Deposits and payments are non-refundable for change of mind once the order has been secured.

Delivery & Transportation Delays

While most of our products are held in stock, some items may be subject to estimated arrival times (ETA).

We always aim to provide accurate delivery estimates; however, delays may occasionally occur due to:

  • shipping schedules

  • supplier delays

  • transport logistics

  • customs or port congestion

We appreciate your understanding should such delays occur and will keep you informed where possible.

Delivery delays do not qualify for refunds unless required under Australian Consumer Law.

Conditions for Warranty Claims

To be eligible for a warranty claim, the following conditions must generally be met:

  • The product must have been used under normal residential conditions

  • The issue must not be caused by misuse, accidental damage, improper assembly, or normal wear and tear

  • The claim must be reported within a reasonable timeframe after the issue is discovered

  • Proof of purchase must be provided

Where required, we may request the item or component be returned for inspection.

Return & Inspection Process

If you believe your product has a fault:

  1. Contact our customer service team.

  2. Provide photos or videos of the issue where possible.

  3. Our team will review the claim and advise the next steps.

In some cases, the product may need to be:

  • inspected by our team

  • inspected by the manufacturer

  • returned to our warehouse

Refunds

Where a refund is approved under Australian Consumer Law, it will be processed using the original payment method where possible.

Refunds will only be issued after the product has been returned and inspected, unless otherwise required by law.

We reserve the right to repair or replace items where the issue does not constitute a major failure under Australian Consumer Law.

Policy Updates

The Discount Furniture Co reserves the right to update or modify this Returns & Warranty Policy at any time.

Any updates will be published on our website.
